OUR HISTORY

podcast group

The Morning Report is the brain child of Dr. Barry Kassen. In an effort to remove the anxiety of learning, Dr. Kassen and the members of his team at the Clinical Teaching Units of St. Paul’s Hospital developed a method that became similar to story telling. The Chief Medical Resident will present a particularly challenging case and together the group works through the options of care and diagnosis. This method seemed to encourage participation and allow the senior staff to examine the residents and their method of thinking in real time. This method had such great feedback, and the discussions were so valuable that the idea of delivering them by podcasts as a way to reach more people was explored.  After some research and practice recordings, a small group with the support of the Foundation at St. Paul’s Hospital made this idea a reality and thus the Morning Report Podcasts were born.
